About ViewHop
ViewHop is a free web tool for viewing a website as it appears from another country, without installing a VPN or changing your own browser's network settings.

What ViewHop does
You choose a country and enter a URL. ViewHop finds a working proxy in that country, starts an isolated browser session behind it, and streams that browser into the page. The website sees the proxy's IP address, so country-based redirects, localized content, regional pricing and geo-blocking behave as they would for a visitor in that country.
The session is a real browser, not a screenshot or a rewritten copy of the page. JavaScript runs, cookies and storage work, links and forms behave normally, and redirects happen the way the site intends. That is what makes it usable for checking behaviour rather than only appearance.
How it works
- You select a country and a URL.
- ViewHop queries the free proxy list published by HProxy and narrows it to candidates in that country.
- Candidates are checked for connectivity and latency, and the first one that actually works is used — the list is not trusted on its own.
- A Chromium process is launched with that proxy as its only route to the internet.
- The browser is streamed to your tab, where you can click, scroll, type and navigate.
What ViewHop is not
- Not a VPN. Nothing is installed and no system or browser-wide proxy is changed. Only the remote browser session uses the selected proxy.
- Not a browser extension. There is nothing to add to your own browser.
- Not an HTML proxy. Pages are not fetched and rewritten by our server; the real site runs in the remote browser.
- Not private enough for secrets. The proxies are free and public, so never enter passwords, payment details or anything else sensitive.
Limitations
The proxy pool is free, shared and constantly changing. A proxy can die between one request and the next, which is why ViewHop tries several candidates and why a session may fail or be slow. Some sites block datacenter IPs or show a CAPTCHA regardless of country. Not every country has a working proxy at every moment, and there is no uptime guarantee.
Sessions are isolated and temporary, and their browser profile is discarded when the session ends. Do not use ViewHop to sign in to accounts you care about.
Who runs it
ViewHop is an independent project maintained by its author. It is free to use and requires no account. Source code, releases and the issue tracker live on GitHub.
